Hartley: Moving on
Tony Mowbray has announced that Paul Hartley and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink are to leave Celtic after their contracts came to an end.
Scotland international Hartley recently revealed that he was a target for former club Hearts, while he is also understood to have held talks with Greek outfit Iraklis Salonika.
He has now met with new Bhoys manager Mowbray and it has been decided that he will look for a new challenge elsewhere.
"I had a good long conversation with Paul. He came in to see me," Mowbray revealed.
"The outcome of that is Paul won't be offered a new contract. He is free to look for other employment."
Mowbray has not met with Vennegoor of Hesselink but he fully expects the Dutch striker to move on in the near future.
The 30-year-old, who joined Celtic in 2006, has been linked with a switch to Larissa of Greece.
Mowbray added: "I have had no contact with Jan. Jan is out of contract - he is free to seek other employment and I'm pretty sure that's what he will be doing at the moment."
