Skysports.com understands Doncaster are closing in on the signing of Celtic striker Chris Killen.

Killen is well down the pecking order at Celtic and is thought to be interested in a move away in search of regular first-team football.

The New Zealand international has struggled to make an impact at Celtic since his arrival from Hibernian in the summer of 2007.

A number of Championship sides have shown an interest in Killen, but Doncaster are hoping to lure him to the Keepmoat Stadium.

Meanwhile, defender Jos van Nieuwstadt has left Doncaster after both parties mutually agreed to terminate his contract.
