Hearts goalkeeper Marian Kello will do all he can to avoid surgery on his troublesome shoulder.

The Slovakian first picked up the knock in Csaba Laszlo's side's 1-0 win over Kilmarnock last month after clashing with a post.

The 27-year-old, who is on loan from Lithuanian outfit FC Kaunas, has been out of action since with Janos Balogh taking his place in the side, but he hopes only to miss a further two weeks.

"The worst-case scenario is I will require an operation but I will try everything to avoid that," he told the Daily Record.

"The ligaments have been damaged and I had an injection last week but it's still not OK.

"The doctor has said that maybe in two weeks I will be fine. I hope so but at the moment the pain is not going away.

"I will try to do everything to be fit. I am training as much as I can every day and getting treatment."
