Hearts goalkeeper Marian Kello is not expecting to require surgery on a shoulder injury.

The Slovakian has not featured for the Jambos since colliding with a post during an SPL meeting with Kilmarnock last month.

Kello suffered damage to his shoulder during the incident and a number of injections have since failed to ease the problem.

The 27-year-old was sent for scans as fears mounted regarding his long-term fitness, but the results of those tests have suggested that an operation will not be necessary.

"I have had scans done on the shoulder and saw a specialist towards the end of last week and it is good news," Kello told Hearts News.

"The doctors don't think I will need an operation, which is very encouraging.

"I will keep working with the physios at the club, keep doing as much ball work as I can and then see how things develop.

"With a bit of luck I might be back in full training in a few weeks.

"That has made me feel much better as I really didn't want to have an operation."
