Aberdeen starlet Fraser Fyvie is facing up to a month on the sidelines after suffering ankle ligament damage against Hibernian.

The 16-year-old was carried off on a stretcher following a challenge by Ian Murray in the late 2-0 defeat at Easter Road.

While manager Mark McGhee has confirmed the youngster has not broken anything, he will still need a spell on the sidelines.

McGhee has revealed Fyvie has suffered ankle ligament damage and is disappointed he will be unable to contribute to the team.

Ligament damage

"Fraser has had his X-ray and it would appear there is no breakage," McGhee told the club's official website.

"There is certainly ligament damage, which can be a lengthy process. The prognosis is for about four to six weeks.

"Fraser has been important in the way we have played, in the last three games in particular.

"We are all disappointed for him, at this early stage in his career, he is just getting started.

"But it's an injury that will fix itself and he'll be back."
