Rangers are back on top of the SPL table while Falkirk secured their first league win of the season.

Rangers have surpassed Celtic following a 3-0 success over Kilmarnock at Ibrox. The damage was done early on with Kris Boyd, Kenny Miller and Steve Whittaker all scoring inside 35 minutes. The win moves Gers one point clear of their Glasgow rivals.

Third-placed Hibernian dropped points on the Old Firm after being held to a 1-1 draw by St Mirren away from home. Former Celtic striker Derek Riordan fired Hibs in front, but Chris Innes equalised on the stroke of half-time. The Edinburgh outfit are now three points adrift of Rangers, who have a game in hand.

Motherwell remain fifth after being held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Aberdeen at Fir Park. Motherwell's Lukas Jutkiewicz opened the scoring, but Gary McDonald, who was sent off shortly after, levelled matters on 67 minutes. Despite their numerical disadvantage The Dons held on for a point.

Falkirk's season is up and running after securing their first SPL victory of the season. Second half goals from Chris Mitchell and Lee Bullen gave them a 2-0 success over Hamilton. However, the three-point hail is not enough to see them move off the foot of the table.

St Johnstone piled the pressure on under-fire Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo with a 2-1 win at Tynecastle. Collin Samuel cancelled out Christian Nade's first goal in nine months before substitute Jonatan Johansson netted the winner.
