Landry N'Guemo is focusing on playing well for Celtic and not worrying about his long-term future.

The Cameroon international is currently midway through a one-year loan at Parkhead from French outfit Nice.

N'Guemo has impressed for Tony Mowbray's troops this season, although it remains unclear whether he will be kept on.

The no-nonsense 24-year-old is keen on staying at Parkhead, but has not heard anything official from the club.

"Yes of course," he told skysports.com when asked if he would like to join the club permanently.

"At the moment I don't know. I'm just hoping to play well in every game and see what happens."

Mowbray handed a debut to Diomansy Kamara and Robbie Keane in Tuesday's loss at Kilmarnock.

Good signings

Although the Rugby Park clash ended in disappointment for Celtic, N'Guemo believes the duo will prove good signings.

"I played with them in the last game, but unfortunately we lost," he continued.

"I thought they played well and hopefully they'll help us in the next game and we'll win."

The Scottish Cup takes centre stage this weekend at Dunfermline for N'Guemo and co, although he has not thrown in the towel on the title race.

"The cup is important, we want to win. We know that, but we still believe we can finish first.

"We're 10 points behind Rangers. We know that we have to win all the games now.

"We have a good team with good players so we have to do our job."
