Celtic manager Tony Mowbray has not ruled out Robbie Keane staying at Parkhead beyond the summer.

The loan capture of the Tottenham and Republic of Ireland ace was arguably the coup of the January transfer window for the Bhoys.

However, Keane, who bagged a brace in Sunday's 2-0 win at SPL strugglers Falkirk, is due to return to White Hart Lane at the end of the season.

Mowbray insists he has not given a lot of thought to the possibility of Keane staying, although he does not believe it is certain he will leave.

Wait and see

"Getting him to extend his stay isn't something that has crossed my mind," said Mowbray. "But we'll wait and see. That's not to say no.

"I don't know what Robbie's thoughts are on his football career. He's a young guy still, he's contracted to Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League. I don't know what he thinks about his future.

"In the short term, he's here until the end of the season and hopefully he's got a few more days like today, when he makes the difference."
