Hearts striker Christian Nade has been told he is on his final warning at Tynecastle.

The Frenchman, 25, faced the axe after clashing with team-mate Ian Black following the 2-0 defeat by Celtic last month.

But after disciplinary proceedings, the club has decided to give Nade one last chance to secure a new deal with his contract set to expire in the summer.

"He committed a breach of discipline and has been warned about that. It's a final warning," manager Jim Jefferies told the Daily Record.

Knuckle down

"Now he must knuckle down and try to be part of the plans for the future."

Nade had failed to impress as the Jambos lost their first three matches since Jefferies return to the Tynecastle hotseat.

Jefferies opted for versatile Uganda international David Obua after the Celtic defeat and Hearts responded by winning the next three games.

With his off-field clash dealt with and Hearts hit by injuries, Nade is now back in contention for Saturday's trip to Motherwell.

Out to impress

But Jefferies stressed it is up to the former Sheffield United and Troyes frontman to show on the pitch if he wants to extend his stay with the Jambos.

"It comes down to a football decision over selection," Jefferies added. "When I first came in I was not happy with the two or three games he played.

"It was not what I was looking for. That's when I changed it and put David Obua up front and we won the next three matches.

"Due to injuries, we brought Nade back on Sunday. When he gets a chance, he has to use it to show he has a future here."
