Georgios Samaras insists Celtic will not give up on the SPL title until it is mathematically impossible for them to topple Rangers.

The Hoops have fallen 13 points behind their Old Firm rivals, all but ending any hope they have of wrestling the crown away from Ibrox.

Samaras, though, is refusing to give up without a fight and believes an extraordinary comeback is not out of the question.

"We'll keep going until the end of the season and you never know what will happen," the Greek striker told Celtic View.

"We'll just keep our eyes on the points."

Celtic are due to face St Johnstone this weekend, with the game set to offer them an opportunity to cut Rangers' lead at the summit to 10 points as Walter Smith's side are in action in the Co-operative Insurance Cup final on Sunday.

Professional

Samaras believes victory at Parkhead could provide Tony Mowbray's men with the spark they need to end the season in exceptional style and complete the most remarkable of comebacks.

"It's never an easy game against St Johnstone," he said.

"We know it will be hard but we must go and win the game and get an unbeaten run going.

"You must be 100 per cent professional to go and win the game and not give any chance to the other team to believe they can get something.

"I believe we can do that and take the three points."
