Hearts have been handed a record £60,000 fine by the Scottish Football Association as a result of their continued indiscipline.

The SPL outfit have failed to address the issue over the course of the last six seasons and have now been punished accordingly.

The Tynecastle club have been ordered to pay £50,000 within 30 days, with a further £10,000 suspended until January.

The SFA has penalised Hearts every year since the 2004/05 campaign and has seen its patience pushed to breaking point.

The Edinburgh-based club were again the SPL's worst offenders in 2009/10, racking up 10 red cards and 89 cautions.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen have also been fined for their poor discipline, with the Dons forced to pay £5000 after accruing 10 red cards and 74 yellows last term.
