Celtic boss Neil Lennon claims he will have no problem with cup-tying Aiden McGeady in the UEFA Champions League.

The Republic of Ireland international is the subject of mounting transfer speculation, with Russian outfit Spartak Moscow reported to have already lodged a £9.5million bid.

Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are also believed to be keen on the tricky winger, who has spent his entire career to date at Parkhead.

Celtic are well aware of the interest and know that playing McGeady in Europe could damage his market value.

Lennon, though, is adamant that he will play the 24-year-old in Wednesday's qualifying round return leg with Braga should he need to.

No problem

McGeady sat out the first meeting, a 3-0 defeat for the Hoops, with a slight knock but could be drafted back in as Celtic look to overturn a sizeable deficit and take another step closer to the group stages.

Lennon said: "That's not my problem. I'm not even thinking about that."

Injury prevented McGeady playing any part in Celtic's pre-season until Saturday's Emirates Cup clash with Lyon and he lasted just under an hour in a 2-2 draw.

"He looked a wee bit flat but that's understandable," said Lennon, whose side play hosts Arsenal in their final fixture on Sunday.

"He's not had any football and we'll give him a run-out again tomorrow."
