Celtic cruised to a comfortable 5 - 1 win over St Mirren as they continue their solid start to the season.
Strikes from Scott Brown, Scott McDonald, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, an own goal from St Mirren's Franco Miranda and a Stephen McManus strike put Celtic in the lead before Miranda atoned for his error by curling in a consolation effort.
Celtic were always in charge against a sorry looking St Mirren side and Brown confirmed this when he latched on to a McDonald through ball to slot past Chris Smith in the St Mirren goal after 22 minutes.
Three minutes later McDonald doubled the lead when he refused to give up a long ball from Gary Caldwell and embarrassed Smith and St Mirren defender John Potter to prod home.
After the interval Vennegoor of Hesselink got in on the act when he beat three St Mirren defenders to head home a 53rd minute corner.
Celtic then wasted little time in making it four as Miranda deflected a Derek Riordan cross into his own goal three minutes later.
Stephen McManus then completed the Celtic rout as he pounced on 74 minutes, after Riordan had wasted a couple of chances, to fire home.
One minute later St Mirren showed they had not given up hope as Miranda curled home from 25-yards, but it was far too little far too late.
