Reformed Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc has vowed to stay on the straight and narrow after cleaning up his act on and off the pitch.

Boruc endured a torrid start to the season when he was fined by Celtic for an incident during pre-season, summoned before the SFA after being accused of gesturing to Rangers fans after dropping a clanger in their Old Firm derby and axed by Poland as a disciplinary measure.

But the 28-year-old has since returned to top form for both Celtic and Poland, helping the Bhoys to lead the SPL and his country to a crucial World Cup win over the Czech Republic last weekend.

Modest

"I decided I should be more calm and modest," said Boruc in the Daily Record.

"The past few weeks have been a very dark chapter in my book but I believe all that is behind me now.

"I regret what happened but sometimes you need to experience such things to grow as a person and as a professional."
