Aberdeen have joined the chase for Manchester City goalkeeper David Gonzalez, skysports.com understands.
City are ready to let the Colombian leave on a season-long loan as they want to see him tested at senior level.
Should Gonzalez impress, then they are lining him up to return to Eastlands as main back-up for Joe Hart.
A host of League One and Two clubs have contacted City in recent weeks to confirm their desire to take the 28-year-old experienced goalkeeper who has played for his country at senior level.
Rochdale and Yeovil have been in pole position but wages have been a stumbling block which has alerted Aberdeen to make Gonzalez their number one target.
Gonzalez will then be left with a tough choice of staying in England, albeit in the lower leagues, or moving to Scotland to play in the top-flight.
Colombian international Gonzalez joined City in January 2010 and after impressing in the reserves had a loan spell with Leeds United last season acting as cover for Kasper Schmeichel.
