Scotland international Riordan is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Easter Road.
Riordan sits third on the list of Scottish Premier League all-time goalscorers and his availability on a free transfer has attracted the interest of a host of clubs.
Blackburn boss Steve Kean is thought to be a big fan of his fellow Scot and he is monitoring Riordan's situation.
Rovers struggled for goals last season and Kean sees Riordan as someone who can add creativity and goals to his frontline.
