Skysports.com understands Motherwell are poised to sign former Celtic youngster Michael McGlinchey.

McGlinchey, who left Celtic last May, has been plying his trade in Australia with Central Coast Mariners.

The 22-year-old has impressed for Central Coast Mariners and he also caught the eye in helping New Zealand qualify for this summer's World Cup finals.

Motherwell have agreed a deal with the Australian side to take the midfielder on loan until the end of the season.

McGlinchey is keen to make the move to Fir Park as he looks to get some regular action under his belt ahead of the World Cup finals.
