Lille striker Kevin Mirallas has reiterated his desire to secure a switch to Ligue 1 rivals St Etienne.

Mirallas is currently representing Belgium at the Beijing Olympics as his country battles for bronze against Brazil on Friday.

The 20-year-old forward will be out of contract at the end of the 2008/09 season, and is keen to seek a move to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard before the close of the current transfer window.

"The situation has improved. Lille and St Etienne officials met on Thursday, and will meet again soon," he told L'Equipe.

"During the Olympics I have had several phone calls with St Etienne chairman Bernard Caiazzo and coach Laurent Roussey.

"I hope to have everything settled. I am not worried. I know Lille coach Rudy Garcia wants to keep me, and also the chairman.

"But they have known I want to leave for more than a month now. They have had time to find a new forward."
