French coach Raymond Domenech has recalled Patrick Vieira and Franck Rivery to his squad for the World Cup qualifier with Romania.
The duo have overcome long-term injuries and make a welcome return to the France squad.
Domenech has named a 22-man party although there is no place for Arsenal's Samir Nasri.
France are looking for a positive result against Romania after an in-different start to the new campaign - after victory over Serbia and defeat against Austria.
There is also a first call-up for former Liverpool striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle - now with Atletico Madrid.
Steve Mandanda (Marseille), Hugo Lloris (Lyon), William Gallas (Arsenal), Philippe Mexes (Roma), Eric Abidal (Barcelona), Patrice Evra (Manchester United), Bacary Sagna (Arsenal), Gael Clichy (Arsenal), Rod Fanni (Rennes), Patrick Vieira (Inter Milan), Jeremy Toulalan (Lyon), Alou Diarra (Bordeaux), Lassana Diarra (Portsmouth), Thierry Henry (Barcelona), Karim Benzema (Lyon), Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich), Nicolas Anelka (Chelsea), Yoann Gourcuff (Bordeaux), Sidney Govou (Lyon), Florent Malouda (Chelsea), Florent Sinama-Pongolle (Atletico Madrid), Hatem Ben Arfa (Marseille)
