Bordeuax were indebted to a last-gasp equaliser from Fernando Cavenaghi to earn them a 1-1 draw at struggling St Etienne.

Blaise Matuidi threatened to give St Etienne all three points with a superb strike eight minutes after the break.

However, Cavenaghi popped up a minute from time with an equaliser from close-range.

Marseille were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Le Mans at the Stade Velodrome.

The home side dominated the game, but they could not find a way past a stubborn Le Mans defence.

Lille moved into sixth spot with a 2-1 win over Monaco.

Ludovic Obraniak opened the scoring for Lille on 12 minutes before Alejandro Alonso was sent off for Monaco after 67 minutes minutes.

Stephane Dumont added a second for Lille in the final minute, but there was still time left for Monaco to grab a late consolation through Adriano five minutes into injury-time.
