Japan international Daisuke Matsui has joined Grenoble from Ligue 1 rivals St-Etienne.
The former Kyoto Purple Sanga midfielder has agreed a three-year contract and will join compatriot Sho Ito at the Stade des Alpes.
A statement on Grenoble's official website confirmed the deal, stating, "Daisuke Matsui has committed for three seasons with the Grenoble."
Capped 17 times by his country, Matsui left Kyoto in 2004 to begin his career in France with Le Mans.
After four successful seasons with Le Mans, the 28 year-old joined St Etienne last summer.
