Olofinjana: Confident of success at Hull
New Hull City signing Seyi Olofinjana has revealed that a desire to continue playing in the Premier League was the reason for his move to the KC Stadium.
The Nigeria international snubbed high-profile French side Monaco to join the Tigers after playing a single season at Stoke City.
Despite passing up the opportunity of a prestigious move to the Stade Louis II, the 29-year-old is adamant that he has made the right decision.
"Nothing beats the Premier League," Olofinjana told Hull's official website.
"A lot of players in France want to come to the Premier League, so why would I want to leave it. This is a great opportunity.
"This is wonderful for me. A lot was said about me going to Monaco, but I'm very glad I have made this move."
Hull barely escaped the drop at the end of last season, but Olofinjana is confident that his new team will not be dragged into another relegation scrap this time around.
He added: "Football for me is all about progress. I haven't just come here to make up the numbers, I'm here to play my part and help take this club to the next level.
"I don't feel as though I have joined a club that is going to struggle. I'm sure the club has moved on from what happened last season and lessons will have been learnt."
The central midfielder also claimed he was glad to leave behind the robust tactics of his former club in favour of the more attractive style of play he believes Hull will employ.
"Stoke didn't play pretty football, but the players there understood what the aim was. They wanted to win as many tackles as possible and stop the opposition," Olofinjana said.
"With Hull City, I feel it will be different because the style of play here is different. We want to play good football here and that is why I have come. I like to pass the ball around and enjoy myself on the field."
