Keita: Happier in Turkey
Galatasaray winger Abdul Kader Keita has slammed former club Lyon for the way he was treated during his time there.
The Ivory Coast international has been enjoying a new lease of life after his switch to Turkish football in the summer, having been linked with Everton beforehand.
Now managed by former Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard, Keita feels much more at home and has rediscovered the form which prompted Lyon to pay a hefty sum for the 28-year-old in 2007.
He told skysports.com: "There was informal contact with teams in the Premier League (this summer), but I am very happy here in Galatasaray, the coach trusts me, and people show me affection.
"I am a player who needs to be loved and appreciated. In Lyon, the club did not help. I was lonely, I was in my corner with no help from the manager.
"When you recruit a player, you help him settle and look after him, they were always saying things about me in newspapers, (there was) no help from them.
"I am happy, that is why I am having good performances here and in the national team. I am happy to be honest, hopefully we will do well in the African Nations and the World Cup."
