Monaco will do their utmost to extend the contract of Brazilian attacker Nene, according to the club's general manager.

The 28-year-old, full name Anderson Luis de Carvalho, moved to the French side from Celta Vigo in 2007, although he spent last season on loan at Barcelona-based side Espanyol in La Liga.

He has been in excellent form in Ligue 1 this term, scoring 13 times, and Monaco's general manager Marc Keller admits the club are trying to extend his current deal

He told France Football: "We will make efforts to keep him."

Left-footed Nene's excellent form has aided Monaco this term as they strive to improve on last season's league finish of 11th.

Les Rouge et Blanc are currently seventh in the table and their next game is a trip North to play Lens on Saturday.
