Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is remaining positive about the club's finances, despite the Ligue 1 outfit's parent company reporting a net loss of 8.7million euros for the final six months of 2009.

The net loss for the second half of last year came after a loss of 2.4million euros for the corresponding period in 2008.

But Aulas is not concerned, asserting that the club are "probably the best in Europe in terms of capital" with 157.3million euros available.

OL Groupe revealed that turnover had fallen by 10.5 per cent year-on-year to 89.9million euros in the latest set of accounts, with Aulas attributing the drop in revenues to disruption caused by renovation work at Stade Gerland.

Lyon are planning to relocate from their current 41,000-capacity home to a new 60,000-seat venue in 2013, and the move will ensure the club are no longer hamstrung in the matchday revenue stakes in comparison with other top European clubs.

The French giants failed to win the domestic title for the first time since 2001 last season and are struggling on the field this term, currently sitting in fourth place in Ligue 1.
