Marseille crushed arch-rivals Paris St Germain at Parc des Princes as Auxerre overcame Lille away from home.

Didier Deschamps' Marseille side moved to within three points of the Ligue 1 leaders after a convincing 3-0 victory at PSG.

Hatem Ben Arfa opened the scoring in the French capital after 15 minutes and Lucho Gonzalez made it 2-0 20 minutes into the second half.

Benoit Cheyrou capped a wonderful evening for OM with the third with 19 minutes to go.

Roy Contout's brace saw Auxerre to a 2-1 win at Lille in a match delayed by two hours and almost rendered unplayable by storms.

Heavy winds and rain have battered France and a postponement seemed likely, but referee Bruno Coue eventually opted to let the match go ahead with the delayed kick-off time.

Contout put Auxerre in front on 19 minutes as he met captain Benoit Pedretti's corner to guide the ball inside the far post.

It was all square 15 minutes later when Yohan Cabaye's shot was blocked and Eden Hazard followed up to leave keeper Olivier Sorin with no chance.

But the hosts were stung 18 minutes from time as Adil Rami's missed clearance left Contout one on one and he beat Mickael Landreau with a hard low shot.
