Tamas: Enjoying loan spell
Gabriel Tamas is hoping to sign a permanent contract at West Bromwich Albion at the end of his loan spell at The Hawthorns.
The Romanian defender has made 13 appearances for the Baggies since joining the club on loan in January from French side Auxerre.
West Brom have the option to sign Tamas for £800,000, but the promotion hopefuls are not expected to make a decision until the end of the season.
Tamas is enjoying his time with Roberto Di Matteo's side and his agent John Kurtland confirmed the 26-year-old wants to stay in English football.
"He's enjoying playing for West Brom, but the ball is very much in Albion's court," Kurtland told the Birmingham Mail.
"Roberto (Di Matteo) and the chairman (Jeremy Peace) have to decide whether he should stay. It's a decision which they'll probably make at the end of this season.
"Albion have first refusal and £800,000 is all it'll take - that's not a bad price given that some defenders in the Championship could have gone for £4million.
"I'd be very surprised if they don't take up the option, but ultimately they have a decision to make.
"Romania isn't an option and he doesn't want to go back to Auxerre. He likes it at West Brom and would like to stay here.
"If he doesn't then I'm sure we won't have any problems finding him another club in England.
"Gabriel likes England, he speaks fluent English and he's even enjoyed the fact that they've been playing twice a week - so it's down to West Brom and we hope for a decision which will benefit everyone at the end of this season."
