Valenciennes made light work of Ligue 2 side Boulogne as a 4-0 home victory earned them a quarter-final berth. Vincent Aboubakar netted a hat-trick with Gaetan Bong grabbing the other.

Montpellier also advanced past Ligue 2 opposition, beating Ajaccio 2-0. Hasan Kabza opened the scoring in the first half and Bengali Fode Koita added a second at the death.

Saint-Etienne got the better of their all Ligue 1 clash with Bordeaux to book their place in the last eight, Guirane N'Daw scoring the only goal of the game six minutes after the break.

Monaco needed a penalties to edge past Ligue 1 rivals Lorient, winning the shoot-out 5-3.

After a goalless 90 minutes, Petter Hansson put Monaco ahead in the 99th minute, but Sigamary Diarra equalised with two minutes of extra time remaining to send the game to penalties.
