Lyon have cemented their position at the summit of Ligue 1 following a comprehensive 4-0 win over lowly Strasbourg.

Les Gones were always favourites to triumph at Stade de la Meinau and it did not take long for the visitors to forge ahead.

Former Arsenal striker Sylvain Wiltord broke the deadlock after just six minutes and the visitors only went from strength to strength as the game progressed.

Jeremy Berthod doubled Lyon's advantage just before the break and things failed to improve after the interval for the home side with Wiltord wrapping up the points.

The Ex-Gunner continued to run riot adding his second of the game prior to the hour mark before going on to complete his hat-trick after 73 minutes.

Vitorino Hilton rescued a point for 10-men Lens at Marseille in a 1-1 draw.

Habib Beye opened the scoring for the home side and things got worse for the visitors when Charles-Hubert Itandje was sent off.

However, the Lens side refused to throw in the towel and Hilton bagged a priceless point after 76 minutes.

Bordeaux missed the chance to maintain parity with Lyon after being held to a goalless draw by Nancy.

Paris Saint Germain have climbed the table following a 3-1 success over Sochaux.

Christophe Landrin opened the scoring although Badara Sene levelled matters just before the hour mark.

However, Sochaux were not level for long with Fabrice Pancrate restoring PSG's advantage before Pauleta settled the contest.

Ajaccio remain just above bottom-placed Strasbourg after going down 2-0 at Lille.

Peter Odemwingie got the ball rolling after 37 minutes although the home side had to wait until late on for Daniel Gygax to clinch the points.

Metz stay in the drop zone after Vinicius De Melo's second half brace gave Le Mans a 2-0 triumph and the three points.

Goals either side of half-time from Etienne Didot and John Utaka gave Rennes a 2-0 win at Nantes.

Claudiu Keserue should have pulled one back for Metz after Didot's goal, but he missed from the penalty spot.

St Etienne and Troyes shared the points as both sides finished with 10 men.

Sebastien Grax fired Troyes ahead before he along with Zoumana Camara found themselves seeing red.

Vincent Hognon netted after 51 minutes to give St Etienne a 1-1 draw at Stade Geoffrey-Guichard.

Nice bagged their sixth win of the league campaign after seeing off Toulouse 2-1.

First half goals from Bakari Kone and Marama Vahirua had the home side in control of the tie.

Issoumaila Dao pulled one back late on for the visitors, but it proved nothing more than a consolation.
