Marseille president Pape Diouf has accused Franck Ribery's agent of badly advising the player.

Ribery declared last week that he wants to leave Marseille with Lyon leading the chase for the winger.

The World Cup star's future has been the subject of intense speculation all summer with a number of clubs chasing his signature.

Marseille are determined to keep Ribery and have so far resisted all bids for the player.

Diouf is unhappy Ribery's agent Bruno Heiderscheid for trying to persuade the player to leave Stade Velodrome.

"My feeling is that Franck has been influenced," Diouf told OMTV.

"During his last declaration on Friday, we could see he was not feeling comfortable, he was looking for his words.

"That is why I ask for indulgence for him.

"He is a victim and I believe we have to let him a little time to think."

Heiderscheid has hit back at Diouf and claims a club will make a bid for Ribery in the next few days.

"Diouf will receive an offer form a club for Franck within 24 or 48 hours," Heiderscheid told AFP.

"This kind of announcement (Pape Diouf's declarations) shows how Marseille directors have lost their mind.

"I am right and I will defend Franck Ribery's interests.

"Contrary to what Diouf says, I don't influence the player, he has decided to leave on his own.

"Now, he is very sad that the fans are mad at him and his family.

"He thinks they are totally unjust, and that they have mistaken the target of their complaints."
