Champions Bordeaux won a five-goal thriller at Sochaux, while there were also victories for Nancy, Lens, Lyon, PSG and Toulouse.

Wantaway striker Marouane Chamakh netted a brace for Bordeaux, who also saw Wendel get on the scoresheet, while Charlie Davies scored a brace for Sochaux.

The result made it two wins out of two for the reigning champions, although Nancy are the early pace-setters on goal difference thanks to a 4-0 thumping of Monaco.

Two goals from Paul Alo'o Efoulou as well as contributions from Issiar Dia and Andre Luiz sealed the victory for the Tomblaine-based side.

Former champions Lyon sealed their first victory of their league campaign thanks to summer signing Bafetimbi Gomis.

Gomis, who joined from St Etienne last month, headed the winner against Valenciennes in the 37th minute - his first goal for his new club.

Paris St Germain came from behind against Le Mans to make their first home match of the campaign a winning one.

Thorstein Helstad stunned the home side with a 21st-minute goal but Mevlut Erdinc levelled before half-time and a Frederic Thomas own goal gave PSG the edge, before Ludovic Giuly made the points safe eight minutes from time.

Newly-promoted Lens bounced back from their 4-1 mauling by Bordeaux last weekend with a plucky win against Auxerre.

Kevin Monnet-Paquet put the hosts ahead after 13 minutes and Razak Boukari made sure of the win on the hour mark.

A stoppage-time Laurent Kolscielny equaliser saw Lorient snatch a late point against Montpellier, having fought back from two goals down.

Alberto Costa broke the deadlock with a goal on his debut just before the hour mark and Emir Spahic doubled Montpellier's lead in the 66th minute.

However, Kevin Gameiro pulled one back just two minutes later and Kolscielny stole a share of the points for his side deep into stoppage time.

In Ligue 1's last game on Saturday, Toulouse beat St Etienne 3-1.

Paulo put the hosts ahead in the ninth minute before Emmanuel Riviere equalised on 24 minutes.

But Toulouse then prevailed thanks to goals from Andre-Pierre Gignac (66) and Moussa Sissoko (80).
