Sky Sports News understands Aruna Dindane has moved a step closer to joining Portsmouth after passing a medical.

As revealed by skysports.com earlier this month Portsmouth have lined up a move for the Ivory Coast international to bolster their squad.

Portsmouth have agreed a deal with Lens to sign Dindane and the 28-year-old is expected to tie up the switch in the next few days.

Dindane snubbed interest to Fulham as he looks to secure his dream switch to England and Portsmouth.

Dindane is believed to have been offered a two-year deal at Fratton Park and he will help fill the void left by Peter Crouch's departure to Tottenham.
