Lyon moved to the top of Ligue 1 with a 2-1 win at Djion, while Joe Cole made a winning start at Lille.

Bafetimbi Gomis's winner helped Lyon to all three points at new boys Djion after Benjamin Corgnet had cancelled out Maxime Gonalons' early opener for the visitors.

Eden Hazard scored twice as Lille came from behind to beat 10-man St Etienne 3-1, with Joe Cole making his debut for Lille following his loan switch from Liverpool.

David Rozenhal's own goal gifted the home side an early lead, but Loris Nery was then sent off for St Etienne.

Lille made their numerical advantage count with Hazard firing them in front with two second half goals.

Cole came off the bench to help set up Lille's third with a fine solo run before crossing for Ludovic Obraniak to tap home from close range four minutes from time.

Marseille remain winless after five games after going down 1-0 at home to Rennes.

Jires Kembo Ekoko came off the bench to grab the winner for Rennes 14 minutes from time to send them up to fourth spot in the table and leave Marseille in lowly 17th.

Newly-promoted Evian earned a surprise goalless draw at Bordeaux to leave them level on points with their illustrious hosts.

Etienne Capoue's last-gasp goal earned Toulouse a 1-0 win at Caen.

Ajaccio secured their first win of the season as they came from behind to beat Valenciennes 3-1.

Second half goals from Frederic Sammaritano (two) and Ilan in a devastating 12 minute spell gave Ajaccio the points after Gael Danic's opener for Valenciennes to leave the visitors rooted to the bottom of the table.

Substitute Innocent Emeghara's late goal earned Lorient a surprise 1-1 draw at Sochaux.

Sochaux looked to be heading for all three points when Edouard Butin fired them in front five minutes before the break but Emeghara came off the bench to plunder an equaliser for Lorient two minutes from time.
