Ivory Coast midfielder Gilles Yapi Yapo has completed a loan switch from Nantes to Swiss side Young Boys.

Yapi Yapo has been a fringe player for Nantes this term and the club have consented to a loan move, but have stressed the Swiss outfit have no option to purchase him at the end of the season.

The midfielder is keen to be in peak form for this summer's World Cup finals and a temporary move away from Les Canaris could increase his chances of regular playing time.

The 24-year-old has made just nine appearance for Nantes this season and Young Boys, who are keen to keep tabs on Basel and Zurich, have stepped in to secure his signature until the end of the season.

Ivory Coast are paired with Argentina, Serbia & Montenegro and Netherlands in Group C in Germany and will be delighted to see Yapi Yapo increase his chances of regular playing time.
