Zigic: Che-bound
Skysports.com understands Valencia have beaten Manchester City to the capture of Racing Santander hit-man Nikola Zigic.
The Eastlands outfit have been tracking the Serbian forward for most of the summer as Sven Goran Eriksson looks to bolster his strike-force.
However, Eriksson has missed out on the Racing ace, who is expected to complete his Che switch within the next 24 hours.
The Mestalla outfit are reportedly offering Racing 15million euros (£10.1million) along with handing the striker a lucrative five-year contract.
Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen and Turkish giants Fenerbahce were also believed to be in the hunt for Zigic, however, he has opted to remain in La Liga.
