Heinze: Ready for Real
Real Madrid defender Garbriel Heinze is looking forward to playing an important role for his new club, now that he has overcome injury.
The Argentina defender moved to the Bernabeu from Manchester United last month, but has only made short appearances for the club due to a muscle problem.
Heinze has now recovered and is looking forward to proving himself again in Spanish football, six years after leaving Real Valladolid for French side PSG.
"I feel great now," he said. "I had a good start, but got injured soon after the season started.
"I am anxious to play again and I want to be fit to be available for the coach. Someone else played in my position the other day, and I welcomed it. We are a united team and we all must help."
Real Madrid are currently without centre-backs Pepe and Christoph Metzelder and Heinze admits he is happy to fill in at the centre of defence, rather than playing on his favoured left side.
"I've played in both positions throughout my career, so I don't mind. Let the coach decide," he added.
