West Brom have completed the signing of Borja Valero from Real Mallorca for a club record £4.7million.

The 23-year-old midfielder has signed a four-year contract after passing a medical and agreeing personal terms at The Hawthorns.

Spaniard Valero is the Baggies' ninth signing of the summer, taking their close-season spending past £20million and Tony Mowbray is delighted to land the midfielder.

"I'm delighted to welcome Borja to the club," Mowbray told the club's official website.

"From a footballing point of view he possesses many of the attributes I like in a player.

"Borja can link up the play from back to front and he will enhance the excellent midfield options we already possess."
