Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano is facing two weeks on the sidelines after suffering a leg injury.

The Brazil international has ruptured a muscle in his right leg and has been told by Sevilla's medical team that he will be out of action for up to 15 days.

Fabiano will now miss Sevilla's Uefa Cup first round second leg against Salzburg on Thursday and he is also expected to sit out scheduled La Liga meetings with Athletic Bilbao and Almeria.

The news will come as a blow to Sevilla, who enjoy a 2-0 aggregate advantage ahead of the trip to Austria as Manolo Jimenez's side bid to reach the group stages of the Uefa Cup.

However, Brazil will also be forced to do without the services of the forward, who has scored 11 goals in 22 international appearances.

Brazil are due to travel to Venezuela on 12th October for a World Cup qualifier before hosting Colombia three days later, and Fabiano looks set to miss both fixtures.
