Mallorca overcame Almeria 3-1 in the first leg of their last 16 Copa del Rey tie, while Osasuna were held to a 1-1 draw by Athletic Bilbao.

Real Mallorca got off to a dream start against Almeria when Alhassane Keita fired them in front after just nine minutes, but Almeria equalised seconds later through Juan Manuel Ortiz.

Almeria Esteban Suarez saved a penalty before strikes from Cleber Santana (44) and Fernando Varela (56) put Mallorca in pole position to reach the quarter finals.

Fernando Llorente's last-gasp goal earned Athletic Bilbao a dramatic 1-1 draw with Osasuna in Pamplona.

Former Birmingham striker Walter Pandiani looked to have given Osasuna a narrow win with the opener eight minutes from time until Fernando Llorente struck an equaliser in stoppage time.
