Ocio: Niggling injury
Athletic Bilbao defender Aitor Ocio must go under the knife in order to cure a shoulder complaint.
The 32-year-old centre-half endured a similar problem during his days at Sevilla and it has been decided that surgery is now the only logical course of action.
Early reports claim Ocio is unlikely to play again until the New Year, with three months suggested as a possible timeframe for his rehabilitation.
He is set to undergo an operation in Bilbao this week, with the club's medical staff keen for the injury to be treated as soon as possible.
Ocio had been suffering with the knock for a few weeks and it was decided that he must be removed from action in order to make a full recovery.
He will now be hoping to be back in contention by the time Primera Liga action resumes after the winter break.
