Juan Carlos Mandia insists he will not be turning his back on struggling Racing Santander.

An eight-match winless run has piled pressure on Mandia's shoulders, with seemingly no end in sight for the alarming slump.

A 2-0 Primera Liga defeat to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday has left the club perched just one point above the drop zone.

They also trail 1-0 to second division outfit Salamanca following the first leg of their Copa del Rey fourth round clash.

Racing will be given the opportunity to make amends during the return meeting on Wednesday, with the action switching to El Sardinero.

Mandia will know that anything less than victory will see him edged closer to the exit, but for now he insists he has no plans to part ways with the club.

"I expect to be coaching Racing for many weeks to come and I won't give up," he said.
