Vargas: Linked with Real
Juan Manuel Vargas is staying focused on Fiorentina after being linked with a move to Real Madrid.
The Peruvian full-back has caught the eye with a series of impressive performances this season and Real are understood to be monitoring his progress.
Vargas admits it is flattering to hear such speculation but he is not paying too much attention to the transfer talk at this stage.
Fiorentina have insisted the 26-year-old will not be going anywhere and he is happy to stay and fight for silverware with the club he joined in the summer of 2008.
"It's nice to hear that Real Madrid follows me, although I don't know anything concrete," Vargas told Ansa.
"And anyway I don't listen to these voices. I think only about Fiorentina and I'm happy that the club considers me one of their unsellable players.
"I am happy at this moment and I hope to continue.
"I wanted to play this challenge in Florence and so I never thought of leaving Fiorentina last year, even during the most difficult periods.
"My dream is to finish as high as possible with Fiorentina."
