Coach Joaquin Caparros has agreed to extend his stay at Athletic Bilbao until the end of next season.

The two parties have been locked in negotiations of late and have now reached an agreeable accord.

Caparros has impressed during his stint at the helm having guided the club to the King's Cup final last year where they lost to Barcelona.

Bilbao currently lie seventh in the standings and are just one point outside the Europa League qualification places as they look for a strong end to the campaign.
