David Silva is keen to put speculation regarding his future to one side while away on World Cup duty.

The Spain international has been the subject of mounting transfer talk of late, with his domestic employers, Valencia, known to be struggling financially.

Los Che have already been forced to reluctantly offload star striker David Villa to Barcelona, and further departures are expected.

Silva is among their most saleable assets, with the tricky winger highly regarded throughout world football.

The likes of Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City and Inter Milan are all reported to have expressed an interest in his services, and are willing to spend big in an effort to land his signature.

A price tag reported to be in the region of €40million is unlikely to put off the European heavyweights, meaning the rumours look set to rumble on.

Silva, though, is keen to lay the issue to rest until his exploits in South Africa are done and dusted.

Calm

He said: "Right now I'm very calm. The only thing in my head is the national team and to have a good World Cup with the team.

"I'm not thinking about the club or possible exits. The calm that there is here (in the Spain camp) helps a lot for not thinking about anything else."

Silva is keen to avoid any distractions as Spain have enough to contend with at present.

As reigning European champions, and able to boast a squad brimming with world class talent, they are strong favourites to taste global glory this summer.

This is not the first time, though, that Spain have had to contend with the weight of expectation and such pressure has often taken its toll in the past.

"It depends how you look at it," said Silva.

"If there is a lot of euphoria it could be detrimental, but we know what we have to do and if we are focused on ourselves, everything will go fine."
