Malaga have completed the signing of defender Kris Stadsgaard from Rosenborg.

The 25-year-old centre back has secured an initial three-year deal with the Spanish outfit after spending the last three seasons with the Norwegian side.

Stadsgaard arrives at the Rosaleda with the option of a fourth year if he plays more than 20 Primera Division games with the club setting a £6million buy-out clause for the former Reggina man.

The Denmark international who has been capped twice by his country joins the Andalucian club for an undisclosed fee.

Stadsgaard said he was interested in a move to the Spanish club after speaking with Danish team-mate Patrick Mtiliga.

"I know the club by Patrick, who told me a lot about Malaga.

"I will have to adapt quickly and acclimatise to the hot weather.

"The Spanish league is difficult, but Malaga is a good team and we expect to do well this season.

"There was interest from other clubs, but Malaga was my first choice."
