Barcelona made it 16 wins on the trot with a thumping 6-0 win over lowly Zamora in the Copa del Rey.

Winning 3-1 from the first leg Barcelona quickly added to their lead with Santiago Ezquerro scoring in the very first minute.

Henrik Larsson (19, 20) added to the lead with two goals in the space of a minute to leave Zamora reeling.

Thiago Motto got in on the act with the fourth goal on 34 minutes.

Mark van Bommel netted a fifth on 51 minutes and Maxi Lopez completed the rout with the sixth from the penalty spot ten minutes from time.

Holders Real Betis stuttered into the quarter finals after a goalless draw at home to Celta Vigo.

A 1-1 draw in the first leg proved crucial for Betis as they progressed on the away goals rule.

Deportivo La Coruna booked their spot in the last eight despite going down 2-1 to Osasuna as they progressed 4-2 on aggregate.

Victor gave Deportivo the lead on 58 minutes when scoring from the penalty spot.

Inaki Munoz drew Osasuna level seven minutes from time from the penalty spot and Bernardo Romeo grabbed a winner in the dying seconds for the home side, but it was too little to late.

Cadiz produced a fine defensive display to earn a goalless draw with Sevilla to go through 3-2 on aggregate.

In the rearranged first leg encounter Real Zaragoza put them in pole position to reach the last eight with a 1-0 win at Atletico Madrid.

Brazilian striker Ewerthon netted the winner for the visitors on 57 minutes to pile the pressure on under-fire Atletico coach Carlos Bianchi.

Valencia eased into the quarter finals with a 1-0 win over Villarreal at La Mestalla to go through 3-0 on aggregate.

Portuguese defender Miguel netted the only goal of the game for Valencia on 59 minutes to see off Villarreal.

Getafe bowed out of the competition after a brave 3-3 draw at Espanyol with the home side going through 4-3 on aggregate.

The visitors overturned the first leg deficit with two early strikes from Riki (3,14), but Eduardo Costa levelled the aggregate scores on 25 minutes.

Young striker Jonathan then put Espanyol in control with two second half strikes (52, 66).

Mario Andres Pernia ensured a tense finale with the equaliser on the night five minutes from time, but Espanyol held on to progress.
