Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to miss Barcelona's trip to Athletic Bilbao on Saturday after suffering another thigh strain.

The Swedish frontman initially damaged his thigh during a Primera Liga contest against Real Mallorca a fortnight ago.

That prevented him from featuring for his country in the latest round of friendly fixtures.

It was hoped that the international break would allow him the opportunity to rest the problematic area and return ready for action when domestic duties resume this weekend.

However, further tests carried out on Thursday have shown that Ibrahimovic has suffered a further injury in the same area.

Barca are now sweating on the fitness of their big summer signing ahead of a testing week for the club.

After Saturday's trip to Bilbao, Pep Guardiola's side face Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday and arch-rivals Real Madrid in El Clasico next Sunday.
