Reports in Portugal claim that Real Madrid are preparing a swoop Valencia full back Miguel.

Sports newspaper A Bola maintain that Los Merengues are considering a move for the Portugal international following the serious knee injury sustained by Cicinho.

The Brazilian star has torn knee ligaments and will be out of action for around six months.

Real are now purportedly looking to bring in cover with a January move for Miguel being mooted.

However, Valencia have moved to quash the speculation with coach Quique Flores insisting the former Benfica defender is very much part of his plans.

"His exit is unthinkable," Flores stated. "I don't see any truth in the story."
