Amauri: Set to consider future

Palermo striker Amauri has confirmed he will decide his future at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old Brazilian is set to leave the Rosanero after a disappointing season at the Stadio Renzo Barbera which has seen them miss out on European qualification for the first time in four years.

Amauri has been linked with both Juventus and Milan having scored 15 Serie A goals this season, and with Milan two points off a Champions League place heading into the final round, it appears the former Chievo man is destined to move to Turin.

"The Champions League factor is fundamental in my choice," he told Mediaset.

Discussions

"I reaffirm that everything will be sorted out after the match with Siena. I'll discuss things with my agent and we will see what concrete options there really are.

"Milan are interested?" he added. "Even if they don't qualify for the Champions League, they remain a great team.

"However, I think it would be an important loss for Italian football if they fail to qualify because they have picked up great results in Europe."

Expectations

Palermo have also failed to meet expectations this term after finishing sixth last season to qualify for the Uefa Cup for the third straight year.

"Given the potential of this squad, we started the season aiming to finish fourth," said Amauri.

"The season has been cursed and everything became more difficult, but under Stefano Colantuono and Francesco Guidolin we've given a good response."
