Cafu: On his way home

Carlo Ancelotti will be remain as Milan coach next season, but Brazilians Cafu and Serginho have confirmed their departures.

Milan supremo Adriano Galliani has made the move to confirm Ancelotti's position - whether the club finish fourth and qualifying for the UEFA Champions League or not.

With one game to go in Serie A, Milan need to beat Udinese and then hope fourth-placed Fiorentina to lose at Torino - which appears unlikely.

But no matter the result - Galliani insists the result will not affect Ancelotti's position.

"Whether we enter the Champions League or the Uefa Cup, Ancelotti will be our Coach next season," announced Galliani.

"What I continually tell the boys is that we must go out there and beat Udinese, because it would be such a shame if Fiorentina lost and we did not take the opportunity.

"It would be very disappointing not to qualify for the Champions League, but for the past six years we have achieved great results in that competition."

Brazilian departures

Meanwhile, Brazilians Cafu and Serginho will depart the club and return home.

37-year-old Cafu is yet to decide whether he will retire.

"I have had five marvellous years in which I have managed to win everything," the former Roma right back told Milan's TV Channel.

"The moment has arrived to leave. It is sad and hard but I knew sooner or later the time would come to go home, to return to Brazil. I don't know if I'll still play when I'm in Brazil."

Serginho, 36, is leaving after nine years at the San Siro.

"After a back problem hit me two years ago, I've not been able to return to my best form, which is why I believe the moment has come to say goodbye to the team," he said.
